Drink Kong is already a Roman institution. Since Patrick Pistolesi opened the original location in Monti, it has consistently been one of the best cocktail bars in the city — recognised internationally, loved locally, and entirely its own thing.

Now there is a second chapter, and it has chosen its address well. The new Drink Kong sits just steps from Piazza di Spagna, in the same neighbourhood as some of the most beautiful streets in Rome. The setting is more refined than Monti — quieter, more residential, with that particular elegance that belongs to this part of the city. The bar itself follows suit: dark, sculptural, lined with an impressive collection of spirits, with a long counter that immediately tells you this is a serious place.

The cocktails are extraordinary. Precise, inventive, never predictable. This is where Rome drinks well — and now it does so in two places.
